The main aim of access control systems is to minimise the risk of unauthorised access and track the movement of staff through a building. For a business, door control is a fundamental component of security compliance programs ensuring that access control policies as well as security technology are arranged to protect confidential data (e.g. customer data), money and staff.
All in one, access control systems manage the access of people through the control of doors to provide a trail of a person’s movements within a building and limit access to certain areas as required. Access control also provides a much easier and more affordable way of managing a large number of people going through doors. While a key can be copied easily, a fob is a lot harder to copy when additional security is in place.

how it works.
What is an access control system:
An access control system is the use of a personal identification method to manage access through specified doors. This can be one or more methods depending on the level of security required, including fob, finger print, pin or facial recognition. These methods identify the person within a system and the type of access they are allowed, which is controlled by a secured network and managed from a server. All information is then decoded to provide a real-time access analysis of events.
Access control systems are connected by encrypted and multi-factor authentication over a LAN “local area network” to a central unit for processing. By combining access and door control with alarm and CCTV integration you can maximise the safety and security of your business and staff.
How does it work:
Access control systems work with identification of an individual or entity, verifying that the person or application is who or what they claim to be and authorising access associated with their personal identification method given by the administrator.
The required login credentials for authorization can include passwords, biometric scans, personal identification numbers (PINs) or security tokens. Commonly, multi factor authentication (MFA) plays an important role in a multi-layered defence to protect access control systems.
